Terms of Service

Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms cover the Paradise Vermont and Deerfield Valley Inn websites and our booking service, and set out our booking rules.

About these terms

Paradise Vermont and Deerfield Valley Inn are run by Ozvermont LLC, a Vermont limited liability company, 120 VT Route 100, West Dover, VT 05356 ("we", "us"). These terms apply to our websites, www.paradisevermont.com and www.deerfieldvalleyinn.com, and to our booking service at api.deerfieldvalleyinn.com, including bookings made through an AI assistant. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. "You" means the person booking.

• The booking rules on this page apply to bookings made through our booking service.
• If you book another way, for example on a travel platform, the terms shown when you book apply to that booking. Our house rules apply to every stay.

Who can book

• You must be 18 or older.
• You are responsible for your whole party, and for the details you give us being accurate.
• We work in English, and all prices and payments are in US dollars.

Stays

• Check-in is from 4 PM, and check-out is by 11 AM, at both properties. At the inn, check-in closes at 9 PM, and you need a photo ID and a card.
• Stays are up to 14 nights. Longer stays are on request.
• Check-in and check-out are never on a Saturday. On a holiday long weekend, they are also never on that Sunday.
• Minimum stays: at the inn, 1 night from Sunday to Thursday, and 2 nights if the stay includes a Friday or Saturday night. At the chalet, 2 nights. Over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's, 2 nights. On the long weekends of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Columbus Day, 3 nights. When more than one minimum applies, the longest one counts.
• Guests: each inn room has a maximum number of guests. The chalet is booked as a whole house for up to 7 guests. More guests only on request. Everyone counts, children included.
• Pets: up to two pets per booking. More only on request. Cats and dogs are welcome at the chalet, and must be house-trained.

Prices

• Your quote itemizes your price: the room, breakfast at the inn if you pre-order it, a cleaning fee, pet fees, optional extras at the chalet (such as early check-in, late check-out and EV charging), a resort fee, and tax. The current amounts are in each quote.
• The price does not change with the number of guests, up to the limit.
• Inn: every rate is non-refundable.
• Chalet: you choose a refundable rate or a non-refundable rate. The non-refundable rate is 10% below the refundable rate. Booked directly and paid by bank transfer, the refundable rate is the same as the chalet's price on Airbnb. See Cancellations and refunds.

Paying

• In full: you pay the whole price when you book.
• Two prices: Every price comes as a card price and a lower bank-transfer price. The bank-transfer price includes a discount for paying directly: about 3% less than the card price, on the room and breakfast. Cleaning, pet fees, extras and the deposit are the same either way.
• Card: through a Stripe payment page, which is open for one hour. If you do not pay within the hour, nothing is booked.
• Bank transfer: from a bank in the United States only, and only when check-in is at least 7 days away. Include your payment reference. The booking waits up to 5 days for the transfer to arrive. Your dates are not held while it waits.
• Holding dates: your dates are held only once your payment arrives. If two guests pay for the same dates, the first payment received wins, and the other is refunded in full.
• Breakfast at the inn: breakfast you pre-order with your booking is paid at booking. Otherwise, you pay at the table.

Cancellations and refunds

• Inn: every rate is non-refundable. If you cancel, you get no refund.
• Chalet, non-refundable rate: if you cancel, you get no refund.
• Chalet, refundable rate: if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in, you get a full refund. If you cancel between 14 and 7 days before check-in, you get a partial refund, and we decide the amount. If you cancel less than 7 days before check-in, you get no refund.
• Changes: send us a change request. We will try to accommodate it, but cannot guarantee it, and it may change the price.
• If we cancel: you get a full refund.
• If your room is booked twice: we give you a room of the same type or better. If we cannot, you get a full refund.
• Refunds are made by hand, to the way you paid: card payments through Stripe, bank transfers by bank transfer.
• We recommend travel insurance.

Your stay

• Each property has house rules and a waiver on its policies page: Paradise Vermont and Deerfield Valley Inn. They apply to your stay.
• Damage deposit (chalet): $750, charged at booking. We refund it within 48 hours of departure, after the house check. If the check finds damage, we may keep some or all of it to pay for the damage.
• You are responsible for the conduct and safety of everyone in your party, including children and pets.

AI assistants

• You can use an AI assistant (for example, Meta's Muse) to book and manage a stay for you.
• Anything the assistant does in your signed-in session is treated as done by you.
• Sign-in uses one-time codes sent to your email, and a session lasts 24 hours. Keep your email account secure.
• Your booking status in our booking service is the record of your booking. We are not responsible for mistakes an assistant makes in relaying information.
• The assistant provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to the assistant. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Using the websites and booking service

• Information, prices and availability can change. Nothing on our websites is a binding offer. A booking exists only once you have paid and the booking is confirmed.
• Photos show the properties and the area, but details may vary.
• Please do not misuse the websites or the booking service, for example by trying to break in, overload them, or reserve dates you do not intend to take.
• The text, photos and videos on our websites belong to us or to the people credited. Please do not reuse them without permission.
• The websites and the booking service are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by using them, such as a temporary outage. The waiver on each property's policies page covers your stay itself.

Law and disputes

• These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, and disputes about them are heard in the state courts of Vermont.
• We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Updates do not change the rules of a booking you have already paid for.
